Aida Diop Ndiaye
President of Women In Mining Sénégal
Geologist by training and specialised in quality environmental safety and extractive sector governance.
Ten years of experience in the extractive sector (mining, oil and gas) has allowed me to acquire skills ranging from exploration, to the governance of extractive industries through the management and development of mining projects.
Passionate and committed in nature, I quickly realized that social progress could only be achieved through citizen action. Thus, since 2012 I have been working to promote women’s leadership, inclusion and participation in mineral resource governance, promotion of science and technology education for girls, advocacy, stakeholders engagement and participation in strengthening the rights of women and minority populations.
It fell naturally in place that I am proactive in this area, including being a founding member of Women In Mining Senegal and also responsible for the portofolio of, external relations and communications committee of Women In Mining of West Africa(WIMOWA).
Finally, I was the winner of the Hackaton Min’ Ovation 2018 and an Alumni of Australia Awards Africa’s minerals and energy economics course.
