André Flahaut (1955, Belgium) is State Minister and a Member of the Chamber of Representatives. Minister since 1995, a former Defence Minister (1999-2007), and a former President of the Chamber of Representatives (2010-2014), Minister of Budget, Civil Service and Administrative Simplification for the French Community during the last legislature (2014-2019), André Flahaut has always been committed to the European project, the promotion of citizenship, and in the launch of bold and generous partnership policies. Particularly attentive to the importance of shared development, to the defence of democracy and respect for human rights, Minister André Flahaut is constantly advocating for establishing renewed links between Europe and the African continent in his diversity. As a strong believer in the value of proximity, above all he values dialogue and availability.
