Frank Dixon Mugyenyi is Senior Industry Advisor office of the Commissioner for Trade and Industry African Union Commission. He is a member of the Advisory Board of AB Minerals and also of the PanAfGeo Programme an EU Funded Geoscience Initiative for Africa. He has recently been appointed Vice President of MineAfrica Inc. Mr. Mugyenyi is a panafricanist with over 15 years of experience in the Minerals Resource development especially advising African Governments on how Minerals can contribute to national, regional and continental social and economic structural transformation. Mr Mugyenyi joined AUC in 2013 and during his tenure he has spearheaded the establishment of the African Minerals Development Centre (ANDC) and the creation of the Minerals Unit which he headed until recently. His main preoccupation has been the implementation of the Africa Mining Vision that was adopted by AU Heads of State in 2009. Prior to joining AUC Mr. Mugyenyi worked for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations International Trade Centre (ITC), the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and other international organization both in the UK and in Africa.
