  • firstly, to highlight the economic, financial and political conditions for a profitable investment in the mining sector in Africa;
  • secondly, to outline the prospects for return on investment, and, to show the multiple opportunities awaiting investors, be they private or public, local or international.

This panel will examine the socio-economic, financial and techno-scientific challenges of the processing of mineral resources in Africa
  • How can we estimate with certainty the mining potential to be processed, in order to balance investments and expectations?
  • What about the financing of this transformation?
  • What partnerships and synergies should be considered? Which sectors should be prioritized?
  • What financial benefits should be expected for States, populations and investors alike?

With Given the limited nature of mineral resources, this panel will focus on the future and sustainability of their exploitation in order to ensure, the diversification of local economies and thus the sustainable and inclusive growth on the continent:
  • How can mining be made as green as possible in order to neutralize its destructive effects on people's lives and on the environment?
  • What are the economic and financial opportunities that this greening implies?
  • How and to what extent can we allocate the mining income to finance energy transition and the diversification of our economies?
  • What types of training should be preferred?
  • What are the challenges and opportunities for developing human capital in the mining sector in Africa?
